Beyond the Classroom

Co-curricular Programme

RAG is dedicated to the belief that social, recreational and cultural co-curricular activities are an essential element of developing ‘the whole person’ and underpin the development of each individual student.

There will be an extensive programme of co-curricular activities for every student to pursue at RAG, including sports, music, drama, and dance, making full use of our cutting-edge facilities.

RAG will also offer a vibrant, broad and popular programme of co-curricular clubs, societies and activities, such as debating, financial investment clubs and ecological clubs. These clubs will be made available to all students – regardless of experience or skill level. Our co-curricular provision will be about inspiring students to try new activities and experiences, and to develop the character to rise to the challenges presented to them.

Student Well Being

What is Student Services and Does Your Child Require it?

The physical and mental wellbeing of children is of great importance. Children should always feel safe, respected, and valued, and should be able to receive help when required – both at home and at school. Student Services at RAG is just one of the many ways we place students’ wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. It ensures children are well-supported during their time with us.

Why is Student Services Important?

Student Services is important to ensure your child is happy, secure, and fulfilled throughout their educational experience. After all, education, health and wellbeing are closely linked, so if your child is content and happy whilst they’re in school, they’ll be more likely to achieve academic success. Focusing on student services also promotes a sense of community among students, where they show respect for and support each other. This is particularly true at RAG, where students are placed into different ‘Houses’. Student Services can also act as a bridge between school and home life as staff are usually the first point of contact if a parent has any concerns they wish to discuss regarding their child. By establishing this connection, the school has a reach beyond the gates, supporting families and children even when the school day finishes.

Our House System

We implement student services through a strong House system which is split into four ‘Houses’.

These Houses underpin the school’s values and develop a sense of community and create a friendly, competitive and collegiate atmosphere. At school, your House is like your family. Two students are appointed as Captains of each House, and they lead on events and activities, allowing students to interact, build relationships, take part in House competitions and run dedicated fundraising weeks across the academic year.

In the Primary School, a Chill Out Zone established by our student councillor, gives students a place away from the hustle and bustle of school life and a quiet place to read or colour in – the perfect retreat.
